Aesthetic of Nonknowledge is a concept designed by Rabota to establish instrumental relations between an artistic act and Nonknowledge as a condition of autonomy.
From the Aesthetics of Nonknowledge:
Nonknowledge as an object for the artistic practice arose in our conversations first in the form related to the phenomenon of time. We noted Nonknowledge as something invading the present from the future and thereby shaping the past. We used to work on the Bubble Opera — a one-year-long procedural project, with Nonknowledge as an operator for the planning of the performative events. One of these events, planned for the entire last half of the Bubble Opera, was to be a certain Zone of Nonknowledge , which we, in principle, did not fill with concrete content according to the logic of the concept. We intended to let whatever to happen and not plan anything specific.
When the time of the Zone of Nonknowledge has come, we ended up in Turkey on the pathway from Antalya to Adrasan, this path ran through the forest, along the sea and lasted a month and a half with a break — we had to go spontaneously for a couple of days to Moscow to meet one crank in Moscow City Tower. This man was going to create a fancy all-Russian Masonic lodge and asked us to help him with this. We went back to the trail and continued to move forward without any plans for tomorrow and the future all in all. Ahead was Rome, Sicily, city of Vladimir, Athens and a 150-kilometre jerk along the Rhine on bicycles found in a German garbage dump . The Zone of Nonknowledge planned for six months has ended; we had to bury all our belongings into the field near Moscow and fly away to Vietnam.
And here is what we noticed: the Zone of Nonknowledge ended, but Nonknowledge itself remained with us, not as a factor of time, but as something related to being as such — it has become the backdrop of all events and things. We began to think and talk a lot about it. All this was happening in the process of a slow drift down Indochina from Vietnam to the south across Laos. We stopped just for the New Year in Bankrut village, Thailand in front of a huge empty beach, on which there was never anyone except us and dogs. read more
