Sound performance, viewed from the perspective of a contemporary art spectator unexpectedly turns out to be a provider of raw musicality. We call it (Music) in brackets.
A&M install a sound vibration in space, extracting fan wave interference from electronic monochords, turning time and space into a place for an event. What can sound do? Sound manifests being. Reflecting on the future, it returns to us, waiting on stumps, bunks, and suitcases for the return of Proserpine.
Operators in Bubble Opera The Cucumber of Time relates successive events as present, retained background and unknown future. In the Bubble Opera working presentation, the earlier variables of the Six Stones matrix are replaced with operators named after Soviet and Russian political figures: Brezhnev (`b`), Gorbachev (`G/g`), Yeltsin (`E/e`), Putin (`P`), and an unknown/noise operator (`X/x`). These are the formal names in the artists’ model; no president-to-date assignment is inferred from the chronology alone.
Poverty and Glory — 27 October 2017 The Work’s dated performance genealogy belongs to the opening period of Bubble Opera. The operators provide a source for the later structured programme; the surviving Work evidence does not identify a particular president as the operator of Poverty and Glory.
