Work Text
Ok Hologram is constructed as a meta-collage whose operative logic is derived from jungle. Jungle matters here not as a genre to be quoted or imitated, but as a compositional model: several streams coexist, overlap and produce a layered space in which the focus of attention is constantly shifting position.
Movement unfolds not only along the temporal axis, from the beginning of a composition to its end, but also in depth and across the field, between rhythmic, sonic and imagistic strata. One stream moves into the foreground and recedes; another appears beneath it; a fragment breaks off and joins the next through a transition, a rupture, an interval of nothing. Music operates not as a single line but as a volume continually reassembled in the act of listening.
This is the precise sense in which the album is a meta-collage. Its elements do not settle into a static composition of parts. They remain discrete while continually altering one another through adjacency, superimposition and transition. Every shift of focus reorganises the perception of everything already heard.
The title Ok Hologram names this structure. The holographic is not an image effect but a principle of a whole distributed across fragments: the work is broken apart, yet each fragment retains the organisation of the whole. A fragment is not a missing piece waiting for the others to complete it; it already carries the whole in compressed form and can unfold it again from another point.
Listening to Ok Hologram is therefore not a passage through a sequence of closed musical units. It is a continual change of scale and position within a single layered structure: forward, inward, across, between the layers — and through the nothing between them.
