Authorial Comment

The wrapped figure comes from the artists' journey from Nepal into India: travelling by bus and later spending a night at Varanasi station, they repeatedly saw people walking along the road wrapped in scarves. The painting turns that observed roadside figure into one of the early forms of the recurring hooded / wrapped person in the Dresden painting corpus. This establishes the source of the image; it does not establish a canonical Series relation.
