221011 Borders

A video installation structured around three borders: the visible but non-existent horizon between heaven and earth, the existing but invisible Czech-German border, and the border between peacetime and war. The three borders separate visibility from existence: one is visible but does not exist, one exists but is invisible, and one is experienced as a historical rupture. The Work keeps these regimes non-equivalent.

Suspended by C D Friedrich we used to go there to film that crop of the crazy view over Děčín having no idea what it was for. We started in the middle of February. Russian officials condemned the West in warmongering and disinformation, going to attack Ukraine one week later.

I can't tear myself away from my floating life to shake it off. I do not know what to do. What can I do? I can't stop gazing at this forest and mountains because I can't do anything.

This video demonstrates the borders: 1. The visible but non-existent boundary between heaven and earth. 2. The existing but invisible border between the Czech Republic and Germany passes in this place. 3. The border between peacetime and a monstrous war differently felt by everyone.
