Core contents

  • Why Not the Academy — Marika Krasina & Anton Kryvulia; first-known self-publication cited as 2020, with surviving revised carriers from 2022.
  • Anton Kryvulia's appeal to the Faculty of Art and Design at Jan Evangelista Purkyně University, dated 10 February 2022.
  • Academy considered through the relation of institutional frame, artistic process, and Chaos — Sense — Delight.
  • The issue's account of the rejected appeal followed by the decision to establish Rabota Institution.

Historical trajectory

MOLD #1 is not only a container for separate texts. It retrospectively assembles a connected institutional trajectory: the utopian model of the Academy and Why Not the Academy; its expansion in the HfBK Dresden context through Chaos — Sense — Delight and an applied institutional strategy; the UJEP admission-exam intervention and subsequent appeal; and, after the negative response to that appeal, the decision by Marika and Anton to establish Rabota Institution.

The issue therefore documents a transition from attempts to think and act through existing art academies toward the establishment of an artist-run institution.
